Active Fuel Management Delivers EPA EST. MPG 24 HWY.
The bottom line is, the 3.9L V6 with Variable Valve Timing in 3LT and LTZ and the 5.3L small
block V8 in SS are both more efficient in providing the energy to move the vehicle when only
three cylinders or four, respectively, are operating. The 3.9L V6 delivers an EPA estimated 20 city,
29 highway MPG. While the small block V8 delivers an EPA estimated 18 city, 27 highway MPG.
