Meet the Chevrolet Bolt Concept

This week Chevrolet not only released the 2nd generation Volt but the bowtie brand also revealed the future of electric vehicles, the Bolt. The vision for the vehicle is an affordable, long-range, all electric vehicle designed to offer more than 200 miles of range starting at around $30,000!

Bolt owners will be able to select operating modes designed around preferred driving styles. These drive styles will adjust accelerator pedal mapping, vehicle ride height and suspension tuning. Modes such as daily commuting, spirited weekend cruising and more will allow for uncompromising electric driving.

The unique proportion of the vehicle makes the most of interior space and was designed to create a roomy environment for four that feels expansive. The lightweight materials the vehicle will be made of drive down the curb weight and maximize range. The Bolt is also complete with aero-optimized features like rear fenders which will contribute to its range.

Inside of the Bolt, owners will find generous headroom and legroom. Obviously, a high tech vehicle requires high tech interior. Drivers will find Chevrolet’s signature dual cockpit layout with features that are designed to make the experience easier and more enjoyable.

We don’t know a ton about all of the features that will be included with the Bolt, but Chevy did release some of the features of the Bolt EV Connect App:

  • Allow a smartphone to perform as the key fb
  • Allow for ride-sharing management, including reservations, vehicle location, digital key and even payment processing.
  • Incorporate the concept automatic park-and-retrieval technology, which enables the driver to exit the vehicle and tell the Bolt EV concept to park itself and when errands are completed, the Bolt EV can be summoned to return to the owner’s location.

Additionally, the Bolt will feature a large, color 10-inch-diagonal touch screen with interface features and will allow for the projection of smartphone data onto the screen!
